Robert Paulson Olive Garden Death: Employee Found Dead in Apparent Suicide
Pennsylvania — Authorities are investigating the death of 38-year-old Robert Paulson, an Olive Garden employee, after he was found unresponsive in the restaurant’s kitchen on Tuesday afternoon. Officials are treating the incident as an apparent suicide.
Police and emergency responders were called shortly after 2:00 p.m. following reports that a kitchen worker had suffered a serious injury near the fryer area. Upon arrival, first responders found Paulson unresponsive, with evidence suggesting he had intentionally placed himself near active deep-fryer equipment. City police confirmed there is no indication of foul play, and the coroner’s office is conducting a full review to determine the precise cause of death.
Paulson had been employed at the Olive Garden location for several years and was known by colleagues as a reliable and hardworking team member. Friends and family described him as quiet but kind and expressed shock and sorrow over his passing.
“This is a tragic loss for our community and our restaurant family,” a restaurant spokesperson said. “Our thoughts are with Robert’s loved ones during this difficult time.”
The Olive Garden temporarily closed that afternoon as law enforcement and health inspectors processed the scene. Counseling and support services have been offered to affected employees.
