Driver Killed in Late-Night Crash on I-57 in Harvey, Illinois
A driver was killed in a late-night crash on Interstate 57 in Harvey, according to Illinois State Police.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 11:58 p.m. Sunday on the northbound I-57 ramp to 147th Street. State police said a black Chevrolet Tahoe struck a wall under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Authorities confirmed the driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash.
Multiple ramps and lanes in the area were closed for several hours while investigators worked the scene, causing overnight traffic disruptions. All lanes were fully reopened by 3:47 a.m. Monday.
Illinois State Police said no additional information was immediately available, and no one is currently in custody. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
